Helicopter insurance is necessary for hiking in the mountains. It insures a lift off the mountain should you become injured or ill while hiking out of reach of a vehicle. This insurance cost is covered in your package price.
Your personal insurance is your responsibility. Your travel insurance must cover trip cancellation, interruption and baggage damage or loss. It should also cover your non refundables, should you be unable to complete your tour. Your medical insurance must cover medical fees while outside your home country. It is imperative that you have full coverage and that you keep insurance contact information with you at all times when you are hiking or travelling. Any pre existing conditions that you may have must be made known to me before you travel, including all allergies, medicines, etc. In the event that you have to drop out of the tour, due to unforeseen incidences, your travel insurance must cover all non refundables from the pre paid deposits toward the tour. Contact names must be provided to me once we are in Switzerland.
On this tour, we will experience hiking on varied terrain from easier alpine meadows to climbs above the valley. Hikes will combine easy, moderate and more challenging terrain. Sometimes hikes will be a shorter distance with steeper uphill, others, the distance may be greater but on a more moderate grade. Moderate means that the trails, although uphill in many cases, will not be too steep or narrow. Distances will vary depending on the day and your fitness levels. Weather is always a factor when hiking in the mountains so I will always make the call whether we continue and which routes we will take on any given day. Your safety always comes first! Train travel will connect us to various cultural areas of Switzerland, each with an opportunity to walk, experience the local foods of the area and enjoy the amazing scenery.
As you prepare for this tour, it is a good idea to build your stamina so that you can walk longer distances at a fair pace. Carrying a loaded pack as you train will help build your upper body strength, needed for carrying your day pack with necessarysupplies. It is important that anyone interested in booking this tour, keep in close communication with me. I will always respond to any questions that you may have promptly. It is best for everyone, if you are prepared. Sharing Switzerland on foot is what Spirit Adventure does best. Please join us.
